How to Make a Poll on Snapchat

You probably know that Facebook polls are easy to post and very engaging. Instagram introduced its poll feature in October 2017 and it was an instant success. Twitter surveys are also extremely popular and contain both fun and serious topics. Why are polls so popular on social media?

People love to answer questions and make quick decisions. They enjoy expressing their opinions, especially when there is a quick and easy way to do so. Polling is a fun way to connect with your followers. It can also help you attract new ones. Some polls spark conversations, while others just give people a fun question to ponder.

However, if you mainly use Snapchat for your social media, you’ll be happy to hear that the app has finally added an easy, effective way to collect your Snapchat friends’ opinions on any topic!

Create a poll on Snapchat Stories

Until September 2020, Snapchat users had to rely on third-party mobile and browser apps to create polls that they could then link to their friends. Thankfully, Snapchat eventually introduced an easy way to create polls right in the app using the sticker feature. If you want to create a poll to add to your Snapchat story, follow these steps:

  1. open you Snapchat app.

  2. Or To take or Upload a photo (even if it’s just a black screen.)

  3. Tap the “Sticker” button on the right side of the screen.

  4. Select “polling” near the top.

  5. Type the text portion of your poll; make it a question!

  6. Tap on “My story” near the bottom.

Your poll will be posted directly to your story for all your Snapchat friends to see! As with all stories, the poll will only last 24 hours before it will no longer be available for your friends to see.

Send a poll to a selected group of people

Maybe you don’t want your entire Snapchat friend list to be able to answer your poll. If so, it might not be the best idea to post it in your story. Instead, consider sending it to just a handful of people. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. open you Snapchat app.

  2. Or To take or Upload a photo (even if it’s just a black screen.)

  3. Tap the “Sticker” button on the right side of the screen.

  4. Select “polling” near the top.

  5. Type the text portion of your poll; make it a question!

  6. Tap on “Send” bottom right and select the friends you want to receive the poll from.

This was that your poll only goes to a desired group of people, not your entire friends list. This can be helpful if you’re trying to ask a question on a more sensitive or secretive subject; maybe you’re planning a surprise party for a friend and you don’t want them to know!

Shut down

Social media is always being updated to give users more tools for customization and interaction, and Snapchat is no exception. While they may not be the first to adopt new features, Snapchat tends to eventually roll out their own version of popular features from other social media networks. Surveys are hugely popular elsewhere as they allow content creators to encourage engagement from their followers.
