Stock Market Today-8/24: Stocks Edge Lower As Global Outlook Dims

US stock futures moved slightly lower on Wednesday, as government bond yields fell and the dollar pushed higher against its currency counterparts, as investors continue to worry about the prospects of a prolonged global slowdown as they take note of comments from officials of the U.S. The Federal Reserve will be watching closely ahead of the annual withdrawal in Jackson Hole later this week.

According to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool, bets on another 75 basis point rate hike by the Fed, after two similar hikes in June and July, are essentially 54.5% as investors see inflationary pressures ease and growth central bank policy slows down path.
