New Virgin Loyalty Program Targets Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Passengers

Every aspect of billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Voyages seems to disrupt Royal Caribbean Internationals’ business model (RCL) and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH) . Those two companies go after families by taking care of mom and dad by offering them “clubs” onboard to entertain their kids, enabling a family vacation that includes adult time too.

Virgin does away with that whole concept by getting rid of kids altogether. Doi9ng allowing the company to tailor every aspect of its sailings to an audience over the age of 18 (truly a 21+). That means there isn’t a buffet full of chicken fingers and kid-friendly dishes, in fact there isn’t a buffet at all, and the onboard entertainment doesn’t have to be mindful of kids in the crowd, because there aren’t any.
