California Heat Wave Stresses Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicles hold the promise of the future.

The world is warming much faster than in human history and greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, have been cited as the biggest culprit.

A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, so removing the internal combustion engine is an essential step in the fight against climate change.

Last week, California decided to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles from 2035.
