Population commission opens portal to recruit 25 million Nigerians for 2023 census (How to Apply) ‣ Star Potter

The National Population Commission (NPC) has officially unveiled its e-recruitment portal to recruit ad hoc staff ahead of the 2023 population and housing census.

This is according to a statement released today, Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, on the commission’s verified social media page.

According to the statement, the application will begin on October 31, 2022 and end on December 28, 2022.

The statement reads; “This is to inform the general public and all interested applicants that the online application for the ad hoc recruitment of staff for the 2023 Population and Housing Census has begun.

“The application begins on October 31, 2022 and ends on December 28, 2022.

“Please note that from November 7 to November 13, 2022, there will be a temporary system shutdown of the e-recruitment portal for internal review of the recruitment process.

Meanwhile, the certain requirements that prospective employees must meet before entering the NPC portal, as it is said, are competitive, reliable and transparent are listed below:

  1. The future ad hoc staff of the NPC must have a valid National Identification Number (NIN)

The unique NIN number identifies one for life and is issued by the NIMC after registration. It is used to match a person’s biometrics and other details in the National Identity Database during verification and authentication so that a candidate who does not have his/her NIN number cannot enroll.

The applicant must also have a functional Gmail account

With a functional Gmail account, such a candidate has access to relay important messages to him/her.

  1. The prospect must have a valid and functional phone number

When a candidate does not have a functional telephone, it will be difficult to reach or call such a candidate.

  1. The prospect must have an operational commercial bank account (not a student/NYSC account)

This means that such a candidate cannot have a student account or NYSC account, whichever account one chooses, it cannot be either of these two.

  1. The prospect must have valid educational qualifications

Educational qualifications refer to the official attestation, usually in the form of a certificate, diploma or degree, confirming the successful completion of an education program or a stage of a program, so such candidate must have certificates such as secondary diploma, high school diploma, bachelor’s degree , master’s degree or doctorate.

  1. The prospect must be well informed about the use of computers, tablets and smartphones

The applicant will work with the computer to generate, store and process data and as such must be computer literate.
