How to View Everyone at Once on Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is one of the most popular video conferencing apps among remote students and teams. It allows you to participate in high-quality conference meetings or interactive classes from the comfort of your home. Thanks to recent updates, the app has been improved with many new features.

Now users are wondering if they can watch everyone at once and how to do it. In this article, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Teams and how to view participants.

Can I see everyone in teams at once?

As you know, Microsoft Teams allows you to include up to 250 participants in one meeting. The number is impressive as it does not compromise the quality of video and tone. However, it would be extremely impractical to show all 250 participants at once.

Ultimately, with Microsoft Teams, you can watch a video of 49 people at once. Whatever you do, you can’t see more participants at once. Since you originally could only see four people at a time and then nine people, this is a significant improvement for the app and its users.

That doesn’t mean Microsoft plans to stop there, though. We can expect new changes in the future, and you may be positively surprised.

When can we expect an update for Microsoft Teams?

It may be too early to say anything exactly. After all, it was only recently possible to see all participants on any video conferencing app. Zoom was the first app to introduce this option, and others soon followed. However, there is something you can do while we wait.

You could vote. Correct. Microsoft has only upgraded the number of videos from four to nine because of user feedback via UserVoice. Other suggestions included upgrading to see all participants, a suggestion that already has over 40K votes.

You can contribute by voting and inviting your friends to do the same. Signing up with your email will also keep you up to date on progress and you may be one of the first to know when this feature becomes available.

View multiple people at once in teams

In Microsoft Teams you can quickly adjust the number of people you can see on your screen, that’s how you do it.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and host or join a meeting.
  2. Then click on the icon in the right corner.
  3. Click now Large Gallery.
  4. Teams now automatically shows all participants with enabled cameras.

Note that you will only see the Large Gallery option if there are more than ten people in the chat, otherwise you will need to pin them to the meeting.

Customize what you see in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is trying to figure out what kind of content people want to see in a meeting. The app assumes you want to see the person speaking. For that reason, their video is always displayed by default. You may think that other users were chosen at random, but that is not the case.

The people whose video you see are the most active during the meeting. Even if you haven’t heard their voices often, they may have been sharing content and chatting.

Moreover, when someone shares their screen, you get to see their video even if you haven’t seen it before. Microsoft Teams is intuitive and doesn’t want you to miss an important presentation. Sometimes it prioritizes the multimedia content over the speaker.

However, if you don’t want to watch a presentation all the time, you can switch between presentation and videos. All you have to do is click on the video icon of the person you want to see. So you imagine yourself in a meeting room, because you see both the presentation and the reactions of your colleagues.

Pin a video in Microsoft Teams

If you always want to be able to see a video of a particular member, you can do that with a few clicks.

  1. Choose the person whose video you want to see, right click on it and select Pin. Their video will now be pinned to your home page so you can watch it until the meeting ends. Note that it will not alternate even when someone else starts speaking.

You can pin more people – that’s the best way to customize your view. If you pin nine participants, their videos will be the only ones that appear on your screen.

  1. To remove someone you pinned, all you need to do is click and select their video loosen. Don’t worry, the other person won’t get a notification when you pin or unpin the video.

Be patient

Many people can’t wait to see everyone at once in Microsoft Teams. While we are confident that this feature will be available eventually, we recommend that you be patient for a while. Things like this can take time as Microsoft tries to find the best solution for everyone.
